The gaming community is excited about Horizon 3 and Naughty Dog’s new game, a leaker or people who reveal private data, have provided updates. Naughty Dog the well-known game developer seems to be not working on The Last of Us 3 at this time which means it’s unlikely that Horizon 3 will be revealed.
The leaker informs us that Naughty Dog is working on a new game instead, it’s not quite finished yet but the studio has ideas for The Last of Us 3, information collected from an amazing video game production documentary.
Naughty Dog Ongoing Projects and Updates on Horizon 3
The Last of Us 3 is in production at Naughty Dog but Silknigth made clear that full production has not yet begun on the project. On the other hand the studio is aggressively working on the development of a mysterious new idea.
This is similar to what Naughty Dog President Neil Druckmann said about how he developed The Last of Us Part 3 in the Grounded 2 documentary. Although there are no details yet on Horizon 3’s reveal there is hope for an announcement in 2024.
Sony appears to be trying to maintain player engagement by making big announcements as proven by the promise that there will not be any new franchise entries this year. Also there is still a lot of expectation for a release before the end of the year given Guerrilla’s April 2023 confirmation of Horizon 3’s development.

Since he first showed up on social media in January 2024 Twitter user Silknigth quickly gained a reputation for providing reliable data. Notably they showed their smart track record by correctly predicting the announcement date of the Ghost of Tsushima PC port.
Silknigth gave an answer that fans may need to be patient in response to recent rumours regarding the Horizon Forbidden West sequel. In the tweet from April 4 the leaker stated that the announcement of the third Horizon series part “will take a bit longer to be revealed.”
Also, Silknigth rejected rumours that Naughty Dog is working on The Last of Us 3 in response to a follower saying that the studio is actually working on a new IP.
After Horizon 3 there are still ongoing rumours of a Horizon massively multiplayer online game called Project Skyline developed by NCSoft a South Korean company.
It is possible that in the near future the project will also lead to an outcome that will improve the Horizon universe even more.
